Position: Retail Supervisor


Job Overview
We are looking for a Retail Supervisor who can help run some the retail elements of our events. We look for Creative Thinking, self-starters and problem solvers to join our team. If you feel like you want to take on this challenge and be part of something exciting then read on.


Responsibilities
This role will involve a lot of standard shop keeping activities as well as more niche retail elements such as looking after our Vending machines, some Matsuri Games & potential 3rd party retail elements. The ideal candidate will be someone with shop/trading experience, has a bubbly and friendly personality as well as a methodical and practical way or working.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Selling - Utilising our POS system, selling our product (and potential 3rd party product) to the attendee's of our events.
  • Stock Display/Merchandiser - Dressing our table space to make it sure it's  visually appealing to the attendee's and all items are clearly marked with prices.
  • Setting up EPOS system - You will be able to manage and setup our Epos system (with guidance).
  • Stock Take - Spot Checking fast moving items against the EPOS to make sure everything is correct and note any issues with stock.
  • Setup and break down of Stall - Setting up the Stall at the beginning of the event and packing all stock and retail displays back ready for loading.
  • Engage with Customer & gather Analysis - Check for sales trends/patterns in each show which will help with design/manufacture of additional merchandise.
  • Be involved in Design of new Merchandise - Be involved with meetings of our management team and lead-creative to put your thoughts, insights and idea's across. See your idea's some to life!
  • APP Development and Usage - Our Animangapop App allows members to collect Anipoints each time they book scan into a show or partake in an online activation. These points can be redeemed for certain things like money-off or free items. You will be involved in creating these ideas and contributing.

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Be a team player - From time to time, as an when the Company requires it. You maybe required to work within a different area of the event to help out. This will not effect your reimbursement packages laid out below.

Requirements
Please note some of these requirements are mandatory, marked in bold.

  • You must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Good at communicating with others within the team.
  • Being a team player.
  • Ability to travel is essential. 
  • Be able to attend meetings in our Plymouth Office (when required).
  • Ability to work from home.
  • Be confident in utilising online platforms or a quick learner in utilising communication tools and office-based applications. Such as, Google, Email, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp.
  • Be able to use Epos equipment (training will be given if required).
  • Be able to work to deadlines and be self-motivated to achieve the tasks that are set out for you.
  • Ability to drive is desirable but not essential.
  • Own your own Laptop and Smartphone (if not, we can supply).

Reimbursement package

Animangapop likes to pride itself on good quality reimbursement packages for all of its crew. We are able to offer the following for the right candidate.

  • Accommodation(usually the night before the event, unless a weekender event).
  • Lunch - Lunch is provided during the opening hours of the show.
  • Professional Services Fee - You may invoice Animangapop Ltd a set amount to be discussed in return for your services. This may also include a percentage of sales per show.
  • Setup Bonus - You may invoice Animangapop Ltd an additional £20.00 if you are able to help with setup of the event.
  • Parking Fees - You may pass on any parking fees with receipt and this will be reimbursed.
  • Systems Training - Training on all systems we use will be provided.
  • Office Day Accommodation - When required to come to the office in Plymouth, Accommodation will be provided for 1 x night.

Things that we do not cover.

  • Additional nights in the hotel and/or add-ons.
  • Travel.

As well as all of the above reimbursements you will gain great insight on how conventions are put together. All the hard-work, time and multiple skill sets it that are required to make the magic happen! You will also be working in an environment with like-minded people that's passions will match you own in different area's of the scene.
